MRSO began roughly 11 years ago as a group of dedicated fans for all years of the famous Toyota Supra. Our membership covers the Mid-Eastern Region of the United States, with several members branching out as our lives move us from state to state. Over the years, membership grew and became a closely knit club of friends and family who all share the same passion - SUPRAS! We welcome new members with a passion for the brand, interested in fellowship, and a desire to grow MRSO to be the premier Supra club on the East Coast.
What is the Toyota Supra? Adrenaline attached to a license plate.
Toyota's iconic GT car began production in the late 70s as the Celica XX and was imported as the first Celica Supra in 1979 with a placid 110hp 2.6L I-6. Over 20 years and 4 generations, the Supra morphed into the awesome 320hp of the 3.0L twin-turbocharged 2JZ-GTE of the late 90s before imports ceased. 2018 marks the 40th anniversary of the model.
The Supra is best known for the three main engines available beginning in 1986 - the 7M, the JDM 1JZ, and the 2JZ. All are very responsive to bolt-ons and turbocharged versions can easily reach 400-600hp without much trouble. The later year engines (1JZ/2JZ) are especially famous for being more tolerant of higher power levels.
